Daniel Smith Watercolor Ground
Daniel Smith Watercolor Ground
Turns almost any surface into a paintable watercolor surface — wood, canvas, plaster, metal, plastic, glass, ceramic, and more. It gives the surface a soft, absorbent texture similar to cold-press watercolor paper. It handles heavy water washes better than gesso or matte medium, protecting the surface from water damage while still letting watercolor's natural transparency, granulation, and blending qualities shine through.
Brush it on, let it dry, and paint as usual. Comes in six finishes — Titanium White, Buff Titanium, Mars Black, Iridescent Gold, Pearlescent White, and Transparent (great for letting wood grain or decorative paper show through). Archival quality, and great for adding texture, rescuing a flawed painting, or framing without glass.
